Looking for a beautiful sunrise - Rob & Chuen Pre-Wedding

Rob and Chuen met each other in the States, this is really a handsome and pretty match where Rob is a American born taiwanese and Chuen is from Malaysia. Though I know Chuen speaks manderine but she seldom use it, you know what I mean hehe. There are many romance within Rob and Chuen and whenever I see Chuen, I just love the way she smiles, it reminds me of a famous cartoon character Mashimaro, her eyes smile  together. Rob loves the shape of the mosque and Chuen loves the sunrise I created and so we went for the combination. We did not do the traditional type of pre-wedding but instead we did a beloved session with them and the emotions just flow all the way. There are tiny little actions from Rob which is so sweet to be captured and love to see the softer part of Chuen, summiting towards Rob. And thats about it, a wonderful morning in Putrajaya.

Sweet Companion - Adrian & Debbie Wedding Day

Met up with Adrian and Debbie a couple of times before the wedding day, they were two very excited couple. I always gave them a smile when I see them, simply because Debbie is simply too cute! I guess any friend that knew Debbie will be able to know that, as a single child, lovely family, and the way and the tone that she speaks sounds like a small little girl talking to you. Both Adrian and Debbie had been together for many years. Debbie's dad love her so much which is so sinful without asking them to have a family photo with them hugging Debbie together. And I can still recall Adrian's dad, who is a body builder and young looking. There are simply many love ad built into the slideshow for that night, which celebrates the love for Adrian and Debbie. Which is just one word, lovely.

Natural Caused - Jin Wei & Ai Ting Wedding Day

Jin Wei & Ai Ting are both working in the UK, when we met up before the wedding day, Jin Wei and Ai Ting wanted all shots to be candid without any poses and such, and I agreed which I normally does but this time is all candid, so all I did was shooting behind the scene and let the flow goes naturally. I fully understand what they expect because we cherish what is going to happen during the wedding day and those natural caused is to be captured so that memories can be eternal. I surely do not like to ask people to repeat what they do and to act upon what they do, and also, to relocate the location and redoing what was happening for better shots. To me, there are values for where the incident is happening, the time, the person, the gesture, and the action. Yes it is harder to shoot candid than posed moments, hard things always have a challenge and always have to compensate to beauty, but the value is there. Thanks Jin Wei and Ai Ting, hope to meet you both again someday in UK.

An Emotional Journey - Keen & Lydia Wedding Reception in Saufiville Janda Baik

Keen and Lydia are one of the nice couples too! I told my friends that I am very fortunate to meet many nice couples in town, at least they made my job so meaningful and priceless. When I met Lydia on her wedding reception, she sincerely thank me for able to be her wedding photographer and she felt very fortunate to have me. Guess what, I felt the pressure immense within me right at the moment lol. And her friends seemed to know about me and came over to discuss about photography by saying "Dennis, I know you take nice pictures." and again, I felt that pressure again lol. Both of them are actually from Singapore and decided to have their special moment celebrated in this rare occasion in Saufiville Janda Baik. This is indeed a unique location, before you reach this place, you hardly know that there is such place in here, which I have to go through a narrow rocky road, unpaved, some bumpy ride in order to reach here. Both of them enjoyed the mountain view here. While parents were arranging their decorations they asked why would they want to have their special day here, I gave them a smile and told them because it is special. I really love to cover rare location like this one, small group, with close friends and families, simply many moments to share and at least able to mingle around and enjoy together with them. It was a blessed day with nice weather. Really wish to meet up with them again someday.

The Witness - Ming Kai & Amlyn Wedding day in Sibu

Ming Kai and Amlyn are one of the nicest couple, just love to cover weddings in East Malaysia simply because the people in general are so nice. I still remember the day I went to cover Amlyn, she was sitting on the small little chair and her mom, she was so happy and excited for her wedding. Love her cheerful bridesmaids as well, they all were very cooperative. I realised that the wedding were also covered with many witnesses, especially it is an important element in a church culture. The meaning of witness is indeed an important element in Christian teachings, and I convert the meaning of witnesses to her family cultures, church, plus some hidden ones like the greatgrands and such. It was quite interesting, not sure if Amlyn able to relate to that, will just allow herself to find out, hehe.

Sibu is an interesting town, the first thing I heard about Sibu is the floods, Ming Kai was sending us to the dinner venue and the roads was so bumpy and we drove through many roads which are extruded upwards, and Ming Kai said that was the effect of many flood incident, which made the road to extrude with this funny looking bumps. I found that was so funny and laughed.

Another thing I further realise was the cost to married a Foo Chew is quite high, as explained by Ming Kai, hehe. And at that moment I thought of our shooter Kevin Tan, who is going to married a Foo Chew as well.

Thanks Ming Kai and Amlyn for the wonderful trip. Hope to see you both again someday.

Element of Unification - Tsen & Angel Pre-Wedding in Perth

This is one of the amazing love stories that I have ever heard. Tsen and Angel knew each other since high school and have never in touch since then, and God made a way for them and when they met again and spoke with each other again, love just kept pouring and in less than 3 months Tsen and Angel decided to get married. Angel is going to settle down in Perth with Tsen. Angel is an affectionate girl and she can just look at her man and express how handsome he is. While Tsen is a guy with numbers and can be quite cool sometimes but I can feel that he loves Angel so much. When we met up in Perth and heard about their love stories, I responded that I will do something different this time. I told Tsen and Angel that they are very fortunate to have each other but lack of the time to brew further. Those time in between that they have missed which I see as a valuable essence in their relationship and I said that I will create that element for them, to mature over time, so those pictures that they will see, are meant for the future, not the present. They were surprise and I guess Angel able to capture what I have to say that day, and I hope that her life can be continue to brew with Tsen, everyday.

Wishes Came True - Jeremy & Debbie Pre-Wedding in Perth

Knew Jeremy since he joined our workshop a while ago, out of sudden he message my friend and asked about my vision and wanted to know if its for real. And Jeremy called me up and ask if I can do his pre-wedding. So went to meet up with him and Debbie and my first impression with Debbie was she is a direct opposite with Jeremy and began to listen about their stories. Both of them met each other a very long time ago in a Tekwondo class. While Debbie being the very outspoken one and emotional and sentimental, Jeremy being the one who is intrinsic and hidden. Its hard to grab what Jeremy is thinking because he kept many things within him, but he said that Debbie are able to understand him, without words. I was like "hmmm...". So we spoke about the location and finally decided on Perth because Debbie simply love the nature and I manage to persuade them to go further up to the north, to the pinnacles. Yey~ finally, after so many times I have shot in Perth I have finally able to visit Lancelin, the great white dune. The whole trip was quite fun, we had gone through some funny moments. I still remember the town that we settled down near pinnacles, Jeremy suggested lobster and we were so happy right after the shoot, but when we got home, the whole town was asleep, in total darkness and we have no where to eat, and ended up with chips and coffee. We tried our best to find but nil joy. I found that the town was quite interesting. And love to see so many Kangaroos at night. They were so cute~

It was very easy to make Debbie cry, she was the sentimental one on that day and Jeremy being the one who will provide protection for her. So we finished off with plenty of breathtaking ones and also many emotional ones.
