Wedding In Red - Afdal & Elaine Part 2, Chinese Tradition

It is nice to see couple able to give in to our cultural difference and have something unique in their celebrations. Right after their malay wedding, Afdal and Elaine had their wedding dinner in flamingo hotel Penang. Where Afdal will dressed in traditional red Chinese costume. Many of Afdal's relatives attended their wedding dinner, I was surprised to know that many Malays were very curious about signing their names before proceeding to the venue. Like usual there were many hugging moments in a malay wedding and my cameras have been clicking none stop. Lol. Guess what, they even have the tea ceremony for Afdal parents too, something unique but it is a time where both cultures took always our differences and try to blend in with each other, it was a sweet moment.

Love Cocoon - Wooi Choong & Jeslin Pre-Wedding Love Celebration

This is another funny couple that I have encountered, Wooi Chong and Jeslin came over to my studio for a discussion and I was selected as her prewedding photographer, we have been chatting for many times and I still remember that Jeslin always called herself as my nightmare, in a funny way of course haha. Initially Wooi Chong and Jeslin wanted to have their prewedding in Melbourne which is where they stay, however it did not happened due to the last few seats had been taken, later Jeslin asked if I am able to cover her prewedding in KL and we had our session in the royal malaysia air force base. The theme "love cocoon" signifies their wedding in KL, where both of them depart from melbourne to malaysia for a wedding and later they will return back to melbourne. KL has become the point for them to celebrate their love. I figured that Jeslin has a very strong sentimental heart and she has been very sensitive on things, so I created a beloved session for them where I given them a space to express something important in their lives. Everything you see in these series are real expressions and all was done in a very spontaneous manner. All the pictures spoke about something valuable to them. It's about connecting their love, and only both of them able to understand what those pictures are signified.
I have never understand the reason Jeslin had selected me for the prewedding photographer before, until I went into Malaysia Bride forum and saw her name inside, and she mentioned a lot on how she appreciate my work and how well I am able to communicate with the couples, i was quite touched to see that and she was shocked that I am able to find her nickname in malaysia bride haha... Later I learned that Jeslin has a specific interest in fashion, but that was after the prewedding shot, hmm if I have knew this before maybe I can deliver her something different again, lol now waiting for her to ask me for their anniversary shoot. Waiting desperately. :)

Celebrating the Journey Ahead - Wilson & Jacqie Wedding

I got to say for all the hotels that I have shoot the best hotel for the best outcome is Westin KL, the lighting setup is awesome and couple able to select their color sequence. Their meal is customizable as well plus great location and tables are not so tight with each other, which I are them the no.1 hotel for wedding dinner in KL. since Jacqie is the owner of a flower shop. She handles all the decorations her own. Nowadays couples is getting smarter and they know how to use the lowest cost to get the best outcome. Great job! Congratulations to Wilson and Jacqie, Wilson is graduated from the States and that night I managed to meet with a few old college friends.

I still remember what wilson had said during his speech, he mentioned that when he met Jacqie and both of them have been talking none stop and everyday became wonderful from that day onwards. I really think that he meant it, I can feel from his speech, the contented feeling that all men wanted. Hehe, I guess I have to work hard on this.

Everyone was very interested on my coffee table book which was presented during the wedding dinner, after that Wilson had asked me to relocated 2 additional album for Jacqie's family.

Love . Peony - Si Heong & Juvena Pre-Wedding

Si Heong's is one of the generation of the Lim's family in Ipoh, I am sure you know who is Michelle Yeoh and 林德荣, yes they are part of the generation of the Lim's. The Lim's family joined together and constructed a traditional house according to the traditional construction concepts, which is to construct a house without the use of nails. I have to say that the house they have constructed is awesome, the house has been a place for reunion for the Lim and Yeoh's family in Ipoh. Si Heong and Juvena wanted to have their prewedding there and so we planned closely, we did some minor adjustments on the building. I get to capture their picture together with their traditional bed frame that was kept for many generations. Each and every item in the house was a valuable piece. I'm so glad that I have been given this chance to cover it, not many people get this chance to shoot here. The theme I created for them is love and peony, peony is a reflection of romance and it is a flower from china.
We captured that shot and the album is now being displayed in their traditional house as part of their memory. Thank you Si Heong and Juvena.

My Love for Rapenzel - Baby Portrait

To have a baby is your life is an amazing experience, more exciting is to reflect the mom's perspective into the picture, have you ever wake up one day and ask yourself during a private moment, glaring at your child and say... "hmm I have a baby... I can't believe I did it... she is sleeping on my bed..."

Grand Wedding - Afdal & Elaine

Afdal and Elaine have met each other since high school and their relationship was well based on a good friendship. It's nice to cover mixed culture wedding. We had a prewedding session in KLPAC a while ago and I will be covering their wedding in two difference pace, malay version and a Chinese version, today will be their Chinese version which Afdal will be doing the gate crash and nice to see Malays experiencing their first ever gate crash lol it was cute! Where Afdal has to sing in front of Elaine's house and they had a very big event in the national air force base. Love their vintage car ! Their wedding luncheon were entertained with a thousand of people from many well respected people from the royal air force and so as many friends from both parties.

Taste Enhancement: Introducing New Option of Luxury Album

I have been searching for the correct Photobook option for a long time and people that tried to introduce their Photobook to me had made me given many comments about my expectations. A lot of Photobook quality was poorly made and delivered. There are many factors that I concern maybe because I have seen many good ones offered from overseas. Few years back I told my friend why malaysia can't have a good quality Photobook option, most of them are very china looking lol. So now I have found the one that I like most, I shall say this is thus far the best Photobook option in malaysia, trust me, if you see the real book in my home studio you will agree with me. :) I will keep on upgrading my album options time to time so you will see improvements overtime, I'll not stop here for providing you the best I have.

Bond of Love - Wang Fei & Eman Malay Solemnization

Wang Fei is the groom from China, he came over for studies and met Eman and that's how their love began, love to capture mix cultural weddings because love their uniqueness. Wang Fei is brought up in a Muslim family back in china and he brought over many buddies and friends over from china to witness their solemnization. For some reason I told Wang Fei that he look like the singer Lee Hom lol not so much like the singer Faye Wong. It was a very relaxing wedding where both families mixed together and share similarities, it's the religion that brought from together.

Its a memorable morning - Eric & Sze Yi ROM

Love capturing this lovely couple, both of them are very natural which I guess it came from their heart. Eric was acting as the protector whereas Sze Yi act as a little girl waiting to be summits to Eric hehe. The still motion in their sideshow got many attention when they displayed it during the wedding session, they sent me an SMS to thank me and informed to me that my sideshow was well presented. I was very happy that day.

Heartwarming Ceremony - Han Chuan & Yee Woon Actual Wedding Day

This can be one of the most touching wedding I have ever shoot where many people cried and laughed. Inherited from her mother, Yee Woon is very looking forward for her big day and wanted to wear Kua during her actual day. I still couldn't forget that while Yee Woon leaving the house, her mom and dad poured with tears, asking Han Chuan to take good care of Yee Woon, all her mom said to them was "as long as you both are happy", happiness became the most important wishes from her, more than simply being rich.

Overtime I have seem many different families with different values. This is one of the best families I have seen, which is about happiness. We should all followed these kind of values. Yee Woon had never hug her dad and finally today she managed to make the serious dad cried. And also her Grandmom, I couldn't forget her eyes and how she looked at Han Chuan.
