Jay & Rebecca was introduced by Lane Ho from My Wedding Planner, a friend of mine who has been working quite closely a couple of times. So we met up together in Le Petit Studio, Jay is an architect and he was browsing our studio and fell in love with the cozy idea, at first we was looking to do have the pre-wedding taken in an abandoned warehouse but later we had chosen to have the pre-wedding photography taken in Sekeping Tenggiri, one of the famous place to have a wedding gate crash. The idea behind the Sentimental Mood was to produce memorable pictures that is natural and candid, moments initiated by Jay and Rebecca, treating that day to discover something new, a day to experience the genuine part of each other. And so they brought over his construction attire and Rebecca brought over her nurse attire to blend both profession together in this lovely theme. We tried to metaphor a little while Jay suppose to be sitting at his favourite table, checking out his drawings, and Rebecca came over to deliver a cup of coffee over to Jay, and from that moment onwards everything just flow in, and we start to do some funny things after that. Jay and Rebecca love the black and white theme, its very classic as they told.
Just found out Shy Wei is a friend of a bride I shot a while ago in Melbourne. When I heard about the story of Shy Wei, my mind began to imagine a lot of things. As told that Shy Wei had gone through a couple of hard times in the past and I was finding a way to mend the history through pictures and also how to make the session felt more wonderful so it can heal the one that looked at the pictures. Though Shy Wei did not know about it when I shot her, it all was kept secretly hehe.
However, we encounter a new problem during the assignment, during the shooting day, Shy Wei had eye infection and her eyes were all reddish which we about to call off the shot. We still remain as is and continue the shoot with some minor preparations. Me and Remy was quite careful with her, the most important thing was we must not be infected due to the reason that we have other assignments on hand and it may seem unprofessional to be infected even we knew about the problem. And after the shot I had another issue to settle which is her eyes LOL, it is fortunate that there are not many touch ups to be done for her eyes, but not of the touch ups were done on her arm and her tummy hehe, reason because she was pregnant.
The theme Love Keep Breathing is a theme created for Yew Yi and Shy Wei for an indication that love must keep breathing at every minute. And the theme was also to reflect the one inside Shy Wei, a baby about to be born inside of her at that moment. The session was done in a very candid manner, most of the shots were asked to be anticipated by the couple so the shots is really breathing with love anticipated by one another. Right after I sent over the slideshow, Shy Wei message me in the midnight said that she watched it over many times and had tears falling off, so I have succeeded to make a bride cry again hehe. I believe there are many reason why a person was touched and fall with tears, many unknown reasons, but having experience this process will enable one to feel more like a human being, able to touch love in a naive manner.
Thanks to Shy Wei and Yew Yi, looking forward to see your baby really soon.

2013 is going to be a great year for us. We can't imagine over the years of photography we able to sustain our business to try achieve these small little contribution that may seemed to be not significant for many people but we hope to set ourselves a good example for many other business and try use our own business to support positive things in the world.
If you ask Dennis why he did so much effort to make all these campaign possible, is because when he was an employee in a high flying company in Asia, it was very impossible to stimulate the mentality for the company to sacrifice just a small amount of effort to try to promote positive things that might bring goodness to humanity. When he turned age of 30, he felt that there is in need for a change in his life to do something good for humanity by making himself a decision maker of his own. Thanks for every couple that loving our pictures and consistantly making our campaign possible with the sustaining funds that made us shine, so that in turn we can do good deeds with our brand. There is a reason for all these campaigns to be in place, now our dream turned bigger, while maintaining our business small.
In the year 2010 we launched the 5% for social awareness and now made our business able to have sufficient funds to run speeches, create freebies, promote animal protection and inspiring the youngs.
In the year 2011 we revised our Elements in Photography to Life, Spiritual and Visionary in order to allow couples to able to understand love, look further in their relationships, and enhancing the experience as ther journey goes.
In the year 2012 we launched the Say No to Shark Fin campaign in order to save our lovely sharks, and promotions only offer to couples that able to say no to shark fins soup. Now we managed to stimulate a small group of people that able to share this small little responsibility, and we know that they will help us spread the words to result in greater change. Middle of 2012 we finally have our own home @Le Petit Studio, this has been a significant change, we never thought this was possible this year but it all happened so fast, and now we have our own home, not too big, just right.
In the year 2013 beginning this year we launched Support Positive Pictures 2013 campaign to promote positive energy, by allowing people to witness positive stories to allow young people to turn away from negative thinking to positive mentality.
Our next plan ahead is to assist education in Northern Thailand which was always in our list for quite some time, and we hope that around June 2013 we are able to start this.
Love baby shots, it was nice to be assigned with these kind of happy moments once in a while, where I get to mingle with many children and I just keep on smiling while capturing these moments. Met up with Megan on that day and just realised that Megan is Hannah Yeoh's sister. During the party I met up with Hannah and she was pregnant that time as well. So at the end of the party me and Hannah had a shot together. The party was quite well planned where the name Nadine was everywhere, they even hired a clown to make the kids happy. Another lovely day to finish a cozy assignment like this. Thanks to Megan, hope to see you again.
What a lovely day in this morning, the sun show his mercy and everyone was able to enjoy this special day of Jeff and Phyllis. Covered Jeff & Phyllis's pre-wedding few months back in Melbourne, they are another pretty bride and handsome groom lol. Jeff and Phyllis moved over their garden reception from late afternoon to morning so that those pictures can be shown during her wedding dinner in beautiful Shangri-la Tanjung Aru Beach Resort in Kota Kinabalu. Like always, I love Kota Kinabalu, it always gave me some extraordinary outcomes, people are just nice and open, together with nice blue sky. I am thinking if I should reside here many times just because of its layback lifestyle here. And if you saw a guy with the gown here, thats not the real bride, that is a disguise in order to trick the groom. So I made a same comparison picture for fun lol.
Known this group of people a while ago while capturing Lovvy's wedding, this group of high school mates have a very strong friendship and I always met them in every wedding. And also the videographers (D Capture) of the day, known them since day one here in Kota Kinabalu. We have been trying to collaborate with each other, and soon I will be covering Ah Hao from D Capture very soon this coming october. Just can't wait to be there again. I have plans to start something new in this nice little town, awaiting for my next budget review first hehe.
Once again, Jeff & Phyllis, it was nice to be part of your journey, I am sure there will be many new things coming up, we hope that those memorable pictures can provide the everlasting memories for both of you.
Dear ALL, happy 2013, along with our no shark fin campaign, we will start a new campaign called "Support Positive Pictures" for this year~ yes if you wonder what is it, it is pictures that promote positive element. The world we see is in need of these kind of pictures, not moody, not lonely, not sad, not left alone, not struggle.
Over the years of photographic experience we have witness many pictures that has good element and negative element, and often times those negative pictures have been put on top of award list. A good example are those pictures that show environmental polutions, kids sufferings and victims of natural desasters. For some reason, our Asian culture has a lot to do with it as well, greatly influenced from negative colors from taiwan, people that enjoyed looking at negative elements oftens times have learned to enjoy negative moments. We very much concerned about what kind of impact our couples experienced when they see their pictures. And often times those pictures we saw in facebook are mostly pictures with bride being alone, longing, waiting, composition with negative impact, moody, or even colors that might saddened the souls. We understood that often times our complicated souls are able to feel deeply with these pictures. However, we also believe that everyone has the will to choose, and we can always turn positive in the next minute. And we are able to heal the sould for those that seek to be healed. Therefore, Support Positive Pictures campaign is to promote more pictures with positive elements so that we can see more positive things in this present world, and we believe those pictures can also heal many souls. In turn the world can be a happier place, allowing individuals to realize their dreams.
2013 is a great year to turn things towards the positive side. Over time we will be showing positive elements on many side from words to pictures, from pictures to stories, also we are very honored to have Elegante Wedding to be working closely with us on this. Lets save the world, and our souls. We will show you how great to be positively driven. Stay tune and we love to hear your support~ :D
Lastly, Be real~ Be yourself~ Be happy!!
Life's that Simple is a unique theme created for Bryan and Chin See, where both person just enjoyed life together, in a simple way. To be honest, this is one of my dream theme, just need to find the right candidate, and when I heard about Bryan and Chin See's story, I seemed to be able to relate it. Chin See enjoys having breakfast with Bryan every morning, and she just felt that it is a sweet thing to be embraced as a loving couple. Where things doesn't require to be grand, but small little things are able to make this couple the most happy person in the world, as long as the person one love is right beside you. So we picked this unique location in Yut Kee Restaurant, a well known place for its original vintage style. Had something simple, and all the nice and memorable shots just appeared.
Right before the assignment, I have actually personally experience the beauty of simplicity myself, eating just a normal bread, enjoying bits by bits trying to come up with this unique idea behind in order for me to be self contented during the shoot. My experience were able to relate to those shots that I am about to produce, one by one, with lots of feelings and enjoyment. I must say, I am very pleased with the result, even though it is a simple love portrait, but I just hope to get everything right for them. Peace of mind.
But of course, while Bryan and Chin See are working in Singapore, there are indeed a level of stress, but I told them that Singapore culture is in need of these kind of values and I know that their friends are able to appreciate the theme, and so they rely the creation on me. And after delivered the pictures to them, they had gone to develop many prints and canvas and made their room filled with these shots, and of course, I wish that everyday, they are able to relate to these great values of love, and love each other even more everyday.
