This is probably the smallest wedding I have ever shot and the smallest wedding possible. The wedding has only 6 people including the couple. I was very excited for this occasion as I love small weddings. The reason being this wedding is small is because all of them are actually from different parts of the world including Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Malaysia. The peace and quiet feeling gave all of us lot of time to mingle with each other and it allow everyone of us to feel one another, we even saw mommy and Eunice had an emotional time together where they began to fall with tears, and daddy had his time to bless her daughter while she dressing up. So everyone was preparing in a room in Cameron Highland Resort Hotel, one of the nicest hotel in Cameron Highlands, later they had a toasting session and head straight to the church. It was a big catholic church but with only 4 guests. Later on they had a formal tea ceremony right outside the garden of the hotel and some portrait session at the Boh Tea plantation. Thanks Kurt and Eunice for this opportunity, I felt like I am also became part of the family too as the wedding was so small.
Yue Qian and her parents had a wonderful time together while we snaps some photos for their memory. The goal of this session is to allow more interactions with kids like teaching her some maths, play some bricks with her and making her laugh, this bonding process often love by the parents where they love to remember their moment with their kids. We had the session carried out in our studio, yeah kids love cozy places, hehe.
I just can't stop smiling while blogging about this assignment, this is what I called "Pray Hard and Play Hard". In the morning they had a beautiful church ceremony in Church of St Thomas More and dinner they all play hard and get crazy in Empire Hotel Subang Jaya. Both Boon Jin and Emily are one of a kind, they are just simply awesome, before we covered their peranakan style tea ceremony in Melaka and this time another awesome day with totally different style. This couple actually graduated in SMK Subang Utama, Subang Jaya, while Boon Jin is a popular guy because of this sports talent. This gang of people truly expresses the typical Subang culture. And I also bummed into my ex-neighbour who used to be basket ball gang with my dad. Everyone regardless the young ones or the old folks had an awesome night here. One of the most unforgettable part of this day was actually Boon Jin's dinner speech, with just one word from him and everyone was laughing out loud, he does has a strong charisma of being the most popular guy in high school.
And special request from the couple, every single pictures we shot here are all natural candids, no poses, because they wanted to see what is real and they understood the value of pictures with this approach. It was very fun indeed.
Every successful man there is something sentimental, sometimes a man can be seen as quiet and not spoken much but never underestimate their heart, it can be as fragile whenever seeing his beloved daughter getting married. Love is indeed an essential quality for all successful man, because of love he learned to protect his family, work hard to take all the risk to ensure his family is well fed. It is the love of God that he received such essential award, that every sacrifice he made, are meant for the goodness of his family. This is what I receive when I saw Betty's father during their wedding day.
I have seen many family with good value and culture in the eastern side of Malaysia, in this small town Miri, Sarawak, one can find many people that truly believe in God, where they really taken God into their lives. When I first went inside Betty's house, we all were shocked for how big her house is, but its a very common thing here. Inside Betty's bible I found a few love message exchanged between her and Nathan, some sweet messages written many years back and I used that as the opening theme for their slideshow. Betty is a sweet girl, we are no strangers in this wedding as we just delivered their pre-wedding album that were shot in Bali few months back. I remember that Nathan's and his brother really look alike, but Nathan told us that sadly his brother's wedding pictures was shot few years back but have yet to receive the pictures from the photographer, I was glad that Nathan gave his trust on us even his brother have encountered such dramatic incident.
Thanks Nathan and Betty for your hospitality while we were in Miri, we hope to come back again someday and hope you not forget to stay in touch with us.
This is Jack & Cheryl third wedding occasion, in this final day both of them celebrated their love in E&O Hotel, I remember that we did a very short portrait session before the wedding dinner because we simply love the venue too much, in just 30 minutes we managed to capture most of the essentials, love those pictures a lot. This time Jack doesn't need to do the gate crash again as he already did that in KL, so we covered them together inside the room like a married husband and wife way of life. One funny part in the afternoon where I saw Cheryl and her sis was pressing their necks infant of the mirror, I went to ask them what they were doing and Cheryl showed me a way to press the limph node on the neck to bring down the water on the face and so can make the face look thinner. Haha this is something nice to know.
One day Bee Bee had a chance to gather with family members and she engaged us to capture from photos that can be placed in their home and album for memories, Bee Bee family is quite special to me because she is a Korean-Malaysian mix, she is studying in Sydney and her brother Jack is one of the most handsome looking male model to date hehe. As her grandmother is always in Korea, so this time she is in Malaysia for a visit. Bee Bee parents story had inspired me, her mom is working in the Korean embassy and dad had managed to married her without knowing a single Korean language hehe, what inspired me because usually it is difficult for a traditional Korean family to accept someone from the outside world, but they have conquered all obstacles because of love. Glad that I am able to use a little Korean language to communicate with her granny, she was surprised that I know a little of their language, in the end of the shoot, the granny commented that I am a cute man. Hmm... and so after the session they order a number of frames and canvas from us and also an album.

KJ & Lyn is one of my favourite couple, they are very friendly and easy going, I guess trust is built though our service overtime, their wedding was a cozy one because we spent most of the time under air condition hehe, they had their tea ceremony session in Lyn's house and love the family portrait session taken outside their garden. One of the funny part of the day was during the early morning where I tried to find Lyn's house but mistakenly went into the wrong house, which is the house behind Lyn, this is the problem with sending location, I was quite surprised that the maid in the house allowed me to enter a stranger's house without any questions asked, after I went in the house it was all dark as it was very early in the morning I spotted something funny and went out and look for the real house again, well it was another gigantic house though. The owner of the house was very concerned about who actually went in and later Lyn clarified to them and it was ok.
Later that KJ and Lyn had their exchange of vows session in Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, and everyone was asking me to take a picture of them, some couple shots, some with their kids etc, this is a crowd of people that really love pictures lol, I mean really really love! We were all very busy taking pictures of people the whole day. Later in the wedding ceremony they had a simple wedding dinner in Shangri'la and everyone dressed up in shanghai style, the theme was very red and all of them are funny type of people and they continue to ask us to take pictures of them, one after another, the videographers were smiling at us indicating something funny, we all laughed hehe. Well it was an awesome day, sadly we can't share any pictures to you folks as it is a private wedding. Later Lyn's sister and immediate family member had also engaged us for a few family photoshoot session. So you can understand how pictures are connected with them.
Jack and Cheryl will going to have lots of fun and tough work to do as they have 3 wedding events in the plan and this is simply one of it, they are having their ceremony in Pangkor Laut and another ceremony in Penang where I am assigned for the KL and Penang session. Both of them are actually pharmacist working in Melbourne and this time they are going to have some fun in Malaysia, it is really hard to RSVP all 3 events without a planner but they did it. Up next, Penang.
Finally, it took 1 year to accomplish the task for baby Olivia, today she has turned 1, time flies, I remember we did Alicia's maternity where Olivia is still inside Alicia's tummy, then her newborn photo a day after Alicia have given birth to Olivia, then Olivia's full moon party and now the final stage of the assignment, Olivia's 1 year old party. I felt that I'm part of Olivia's story, someone who knew her a little bit more compared to Alicia's friends. It was a very fruitful feeling indeed.
Accomplished Yan Yang & Li Yuan's pre-wedding earlier in Bali Four Seasons Hotel and now its their wedding day in Conrad Hotel Singapore. This hotel is nothing new to me as I have covered here for couple of times already. Since Li Yuan love disney movies, so she made something with the mickey mouse theme. She is a smart student who graduated in one of the best schools in Singapore won certain awards of excellence, I forgotten what was it. But every smart girl there always a soft part, and her tears is a good proof of that sentimental heart, I had a great time covering Li Yuan's family's tea ceremony, everyone was happy and we kept laughing during the family photoshoot session. As for Yan Yang, he has always been a polite guy that trying to cherish every moment on that day.
