Identity - Shih Shin Personal Portrait

One day I got a call from Shih Shin and said he wanted to do a personal portrait of himself, I felt it was quite interesting and we had some discussions and had the shot done in a hotel room. The first impression I had with Shih Shin was he look like a Korean celebrity, and I know he know that himself too. So we do a little chatting during the shoot and he told me what kind of result he wanted for his portrait. I'm not sure what he is going to use for his pictures but he told me that he wanted magazine style, and hey, thats not hard. :) I brought over some lightings and there you go, I am quite satisfied with the result. And guess what, I made a slideshow with a korean song for him LOL. Shih Shin went back to Brunei and I wish him all the best with whatever he does. There are simply too many pictures I wanted to show here but I just picked a few here. I was quite a nice experience.

Commercial for Ko Skin Specialist

Thank to everyone in Ko Skin Specialist for having me to cover your commercial shoots. Before the shoot we went through some details about the outcome they intended to have and so we went about 2 days total for the assignment to finished, it is very hard to get all the people in one place for full coverage. However, its nice to be there as there are so many friends inside lol ex-bride, ex-clients and friends so I am not a stranger afterall. The session was fun, as you can see we had some shots for commercial purposes and some we had some crazy and fun ones for self keep hahah.... thanks and hope to see you all some day! Everyone was extreamly freindly. :)

Also I get the opportunity to cover 6 celebrities at once, you might aware some people inside like from the left is beautiful Shera (TV3 host & artist), Salamiah Hassan (Renown Singer), Zuraini, and Zuraini (Air Hostess), Fauziah Nawi (Renown Actress), and Fay Goh (Hairstylist). 

Traditional Chinese Wedding - Si Heong & Juvena Wedding Day @Ipoh

One of my favorite wedding this year was covering Si Heong & Juvena's big day in their traditional house in Ipoh. Months back we covered their pre-wedding here and now back here again for their wedding day. I have many to say about this wedding day. The Lim's family build their own traditional house to signifies the union of the Lim's and the Yeoh's. And yes Michelle Yeoh and Jack Lim (林德荣) are part of them and so as Lim Keng Yaik. Did a small research and look around their family tree and I was amazed on how detailed they have followed up on their names, generation by generations. The Lim's is a unique family to blend in, mixture of many different people. For Juvena's case, of course there are challenges. Having such a big family, you able to witness many significant personalities, and each of them have their own way of thoughts and values. Most of them pretty much united as a bond, but within the bond there are indeed another kind of challenge as well. However, from my observation, eventhought there are indeed many challenges, lies within them there are also sweetness, brew from their family bonds. 

Therefore, while making thier slideshow, I focus on creating this sweetness within this family values, serve as a reminder that there are indeed happiness lies within every arguments. My intention is to stimulate a stronger value within them by showing them this sweetness, wonderful moments, hugs, and so that they can forget about their challenges, for few minutes. My contributions may be small, but when everyone was staring at the screen during that night and ended with big applause, I know I have seeded smething valuable within them, something money unable to measure. :)

Fun . Fun . Fun - Jeffry & Sophia Wedding Day

Jeffry and Sophia had engaged me like a year before their wedding day, we had numerous dicussions and chit chat online and only a week before I managed to meet up Sophia and we had a final discussion in Mid Valley Paparich. Sophia wedding in Bahau is quite fun especially when Jeffry brought over a gang of young and energetic team of brothers over, everyone were very playful. Its not like those grand wedding that you see in website everyday but something energetic and colorful lol. I guess Sophia's intention to use yellow for her theme must have meant something. Something positive, young, energetic and hopeful. :)

I'm your bunny - Joshua & Annie Wedding Day in Singapore

Joshua and Annie are both funny couple, I still remember when I took the cab to Annie's house I was like "Whoa", simply because the house was too big haha... we have lots of space for the game session that day and I really love the wall near Joshua's house. The moment I saw it I ask them all to gether at the wall to get some portraits and we run a series of shots and these are the only few shots posted here. The wedding is a combinations of many vanues, from the bride's heart to the parent's values, then to the couple's value and all together form a mixture of many values which is a problem for me on how to put everything together in the slideshow lol, there simply too many awesome pictures to be displayed so I narrowed down to the word "enjoyment". The slideshow simply signifies that everyone is enjoying the day and both families were really cheerful and nice. Joashua can't be sweeter while he plays his guitar and everyone were giving a sweet smile behind. And also it was nice to meet up with Jessica that night and she and Annie both had engaged my services. 

The Blessing Ritual - Saravanan & Shamini Engagement

The first time I met Shamini was during my assignment capturing her mom's wonderful birthday surprise, time flies and got engaged by Shamini and Saravanan to cover their engagement. And later will be covering their wedding day. Saravanan is a medical doctor and they met each other through introduction and it was from then where it all started. :) Shamini was graduated in Jaipur India and I that was the place where I will be heading soon~ going to get to know the true indian culture before capturing her wedding day. How about that. lol...

A Day for Us - Christopher & Tiffany Actual Wedding Day

Christopher and Tiffany lives next door with my home studio and we met up and both of them are very fun couple, their expectation for their actual day was wanted to have everything candid and no poses, so I told them yes this is how I usually shoot lol. Both of them had very good friends and all them enjoyed the day together and being funny and nerdy together. It is a very casual wedding which is very hard to find in year 2011 as most couple this year are very traditional and follow traditional rules demanded from their family. For this couple they break the rules hehe... except for the tea ceremony part which is honor most in a chinese tradition. To my point of view, tea ceremony is a must have a chinese as it expresses good family values and it is something we must keep on doing it for generations to generations. It is a day where couple will hand over a cup of tea to the elderly and get wishes from them, also to be recognized and blessed. I still remember there is this part during the veil session where I almost get Tiffany to pose and she screems lol, and so I said ok lets all cheer the bride, and they all laughed. 

A Peaceful Unity - Faridz & Dayana Wedding Day

Its another day for Faridz and Dayana where they are having their wedding day, the pace for this wedding day is a little different, where I was the only photographer covering this event, everything ran very peacefully. Thanks for Ikmal for introducing this couple to me. While Dayana is making up we spoke about photography and such and she mentioned about hiring a chinese photographer, she mentioned that many chinese photographers have a unique style and it is so much different as compared as the malays, she prefer my style as it is natural candid, and the pictures are different compared the rest. We had a long chat and we stopped when Faridz had started to dress up. hehe.... photographer is a unique profession, as always we are the first one who see the bride, spoke the most during the day. Faridz is a pilot in MAS and invited a few hyperactive friends over, I guess they all were from MAS as well, as usual people from the airline are very outgoing and we had bunch of funny portraits before we finishes off the day. :)

Mission to save the Bride - Jerry & Jessy Actual Wedding Day

Imagine the bride as an hostage kept by the sisters, where the brothers have to go through series of levels in order to rescue the bride and send her to the save spot. Yes, this is indeed a funny gate crash, one of the most out of control gate crash that I have ever encountered LOL. Jerry and Jessie are both very young in age and young people are filled with energies to get through all these hard encounters lol... it s fun theme that both of them had created lol. Thanks to Ivan and Kelly who referred them to me, allow me to witness something extraordinary. :)

Meaning of Red - Yee Song & Ling Ie Actual Wedding Day

Met this couple in a vietnamese restaurant in Empire Gallery, that was the day I also met Jeff who is a very funny wedding planner. Jeff well specialized in creating shanghai night theme and this time it is his sister's wedding. Yee Song is a fine man who will do everything that will please Ling Ie because of his love for her. And Ling Ie is a very particular bride will expects a lot from her wedding. When I first met them they mentioned that they hired a freelance photographer to cover their pre-wedding and they can't manage to select any pictures in return. I was surprised and asked them why, well they all agreed that the pictures from him was not up to their expectations. The moment I heard about it and I ask them how did they manage to find me. What I heard from them is very unbelievable haha... they said that they have been finding the right photographer for their wedding and someone had introduce them to me, and they said that the moment they saw my pictures, that said that they didn't know that such person ever exist in malaysia. I laughed.... 

Our venture went on pretty well and Jeff had planned her wedding pretty well. Its Shanghai night, with Shanghai style singer hehe... Love the lighting that was planned, every pictures were awesome, love them very much. However, what interest me most is their bond between Jeff and Ling Ie, both of them cried like crazy during that day and was touched to see how Ling Ie missed her mom before they proceed to Yee Song's house. One word I heard from Yee Song during the morning ceremony was, Ling Ie parents ask him never to upset her and Yee Song's answer was bold and strong, his replied was "NEVER!". It is hard to see guys say such word, when they they do, they really meant it. And so my slideshow was to focus on their bonds, their love, the sentimental heart of them. Like a sentimental story about their family. Ling Ie had given me a song which was a little fast pace for the slideshow, but I have chosen a sentimental one for them that I think is well fit to their story.
