Going step by step to complete Jerry and Carmen's wedding assignments, from pre-wedding in Japan, to this ROM ceremony in beautiful Carcosa Sri Negara, and later their couple portrait to remember their school days, and lastly their wedding day. All with different specific themes. Since I have made the pre-wedding an elegant one, this time just its something fun and cheesy, with some sweet colors since they opt for a rainbow theme. Many of my friends had asked me why they use a rainbow theme, I guess mainly because it is a day that this couple able to mingle together in a small group, those friends in the pictures are Carmen's very old friends and they called themselves "crazy gang", it is a very meaningful ceremony, where everyone able to sit together, enjoying a cup of tea, and most of the crazy gang peeps stood forward to share a little bits of their friendships and ended most of them cried, lots of laughter and tears, thanks to the very popular MC we had on that day, William, who made the event a meaningful and humorous one.
It was an unforgettable encounter for everyone, Joseph had his unforgettable encounter during the gate crash where has to eat all the weird local foods in Malaysia, which considered a tasty food for the locals. A groomsman of Joseph actually commented that the pig tongue actually quite tasty. For my unforgettable encounter was meeting the bride. Vee Ann is a unique bride where she love to jump around, doing moves, hyperactive and cheerful, everything has to have an amount of freedom in space for her, so she actually picked a very comfy gown for the wedding day, which I personally love it very much. Just love the crowds on this special day, everyone was very cheerful and fun. For the slideshow, I figured that the wedding was quite fun and lots of humorous contents, so I made a different slideshow to this very day, and the slide was pretty much simple, to make everyone laugh, in a humorous way, and the crowd that night was laughing out loud, I guess it was a success lol. It was such a nice day to end the wedding, simple and nice, cheerful and lots of laughters.
Our family used to be a dog pet owner, our first dog Duffy passed away when she was 14 years old and Brandy passed away when he was 14 years old as well. Dogs have been a great companion for us for over 25 years and my parents are unable to be responsible for another dog because of their age. Since after both had left us, my family had missed having one so much and even went to take care of a stray dog near our home, and once in a while visit some pet shops to recall back old memories.
For a sudden I recalled, we simply do not have a proper photo with our dog, and over 25 years we did not have a single family portrait, whenever I realised its simply too late for that. Therefore, in order to keep the love going, I have thought about taking dog portrait assignments as we simply have too many memories with them. Dogs just click with us.
So this day, thanks to my friend who allow me to capture some photos of her dog to kick start the plan. I am sure you will able to relate our heart with you in the picture. Do let us know if you keen to have one with us. Cheers.
Love sharing, thanks to Pin Hwa high school for inviting me over to share about my small little personal life experience. At some point I really felt myself getting older and older each year, this is the forth time I have done speeches for high schools and looking for more to come. Like all speech I always mentioned about the 3 most critical things that young individuals will face in real life after graduate and the 7 most critical decisions to be made in their life. Love to mingle with them and thanks for all the trust and support from the headmaster and teachers here. My ultimate dream is to cover all high schools in Malaysia which I hope to finish them in my lifetime.
Many thanks for Su Li, Cliff, Remy and Gary for your accompany. And most of all, my friend Miss Ng, and the headmaster miss Goh.
The moment I went into Jasmine's room and ready to cover her make up session, I spent almost the whole morning staying inside her room covering all moments that has occurred inside. In between make up, Jasmine was not feeling well as she was suffering with gastric pain, due to the suffering, she could not eat anything during the morning, she had her renuka honey in her room but still not helping. Due to this fact, her parents was very worried about her and I asked her mom to do a short prayer for her and she did, and moment of closeness just poured from then on. As Jasmine is going to leave Malaysia and live in Australia with Anderson, I guess Anderson has done a great job for gaining the trust from her parents. I was a rare moment in the room, and Kevin was covering downstairs alone until Anderson had reached. I guess that short moment we had together, I felt a great joy that I was able to be there with them, covering those intimate moment prior to Anderson arrival.
Thanks Jasmine and Anderson for everything, hope to catch up with both of you during my next Australia trip.
Shot Bryan and Chin See couple portraiture a while earlier and today its their wedding day. Right after I reached Bryan's room, I discovered that many of my pictures were developed and displayed in many parts of the wall, that was quite touching indeed. But another feeling I had was, I had this strange feeling like they are actually recalling me everyday in their lives because I shot those pictures. It is indeed important that the couple have a good feeling with the photographer as well instead of nice pictures lol, that was one of the enlightening thoughts I had for that day. Thanks to Bryan and Chin See, hope to see you both again.
Now have to rush for another assignment for the night.
Recalling back old memories where I still have my own home studio, Jasmine and her family came over for a short meeting in my home. Anderson and Jasmine were having a long distance relationship where Anderson is living in Australia. So Jasmine handled most of the wedding plans. This group of people were belong to the True Jesus Church, where my grandmother used to attend. Slowly I discovered more about this church while covering their wedding day. They had both wedding dinner and wedding day on separate days, Jasmine had her wedding dinner first in Eastin Hotel. This unique group of people had a different personality, especially those belong to the church, most of them dressed up nicely and many are hakka. I had time to discover a little more about this church and found that their Church in Klang is different from the Church in PJ where my grandmother used to visit. Awaiting to discover more about the differences. It was my personal interest to learn about different religions and churches when I was young, this churhc is no stranger to me hehe. Where most of them spoken in tongues, to ordinary people might feel intimidated. Aside from this, I saw love based on a strong platform of God, it can be unexpressive like other churches but inside of them is plenty of love. Surprised to see an old friend of mine Nai Kong, who is currently Malaysia's well known music producer is inside the wedding. And now awaiting to cover their church wedding tomorrow.
Yong Bin and Lidya are both fashion designers where Yong Bin actually owned a tailor shop in Johor Bharu. When I first got assigned by Lidya I was very honored for getting the assignment, especially from a designer. There has been so much understanding from Lidya, understood that we all are very busy with our task and she has been very patient with me all the way. When they both came over to Kuala Lumpur for a discussion, both of them understood our style which is something they most look forward for. Yong Bin does not like to pose and doesn't want very artistic touch ups, its a very personal taste which he said that it is difficult to find in Johor Bharu. So we decided to have the pre-wedding session in the UK Farm in between JB and KL. There are many possibilities in this location, though I have seen many people have done in especially the bridal studios so this time we do it differently, I think the main difference about this session is all about natural beauty, which is the genuine and honesty within the pictures.
When I spoke to Yong Bin, I realised that he is indeed an animal lover and his dream was to have a farm of his own, and own a few horses or sheep in the country side, totally different from his actual job. So he was quite excited to sit on the horse in the shot lol. With You Eternally is a theme created for both of them, based on Lidya's caring personality and against to Yong Bin's busy schedules. As they work together most of the time, so I guess this theme fits them very well. There are many elements and chemistry within their relationship which is not easy to put it into words, but this very day in UK Farm they spent a day mingling with horses and sheep, and most of the time we were trying to enjoy the day. Thanks to this lovely couple. Hope to see both of you someday in JB.
Both Philip and Deniece are dentists graduated from the same school. They have decided to get married after graduate to start a new journey in their lives. I still remember the first day met with this couple, they were very friendly and Deniece kept smiling all the way, I guess she was happy to get married. The first time I met up with Philip, I can sense that he is a sentimental person, full of thoughts and emotions, while Deniece requires a little of a push hehe. So they told me about their story. All the while they were being very polite and real. They buy all my ideas and decided to go Hoi An for a shoot.
It is very easy to communicate with them, I guess our friendship really shines after the day we did the shoot. We had all the shots taken in Hoi An town, though Philip is more reserve than Deniece but I guess he understood the value of the pictures so I think he tried very best that day, he were nervous I know but ended off he was one of the best guy I have seen.
When a man being serious about what he is going to commit, they do great things, this is a beautiful thing of being a man. Philip Han, is a person with a bold heart, his bravery for anything possible inspires me. For some point, I have seen myself on him, a long time before, how I had admired someone I have loved so much before. Well that was 15 years ago hehe.
And Deniece, she is just a nice lady, filled with expectations but also with a thankful personality. I have learned a lot from her, which is everything we do, we need to carry a thankful heart. I am weak on describing this but she carries many good qualities.
The shots went very natural and truthful. This can be one of my most successful shots. It was raining at the end of the day and both Philip and Deniece was very nervous about the shots, and I was very excited because finally I can shoot some rains... you will find it difficult to understand me hehe, so I told them to calm down and so we went with a few umbrellas, and at the end of the day, Philip told me that his favorite was the rain session, hehe. I was like "Yes!".
At the end of the delivery day, Philip and Deniece came over to Le Petit Studio and I invite them to sit down on the couch so preview the slideshow. They seemed to be quite emotional and Deniece felt the sweetness and Philip felt the boldness. Thanks for everything guys, there are simply too many stories to be told, space is not enough here to jot down everything. Looking forward to cover your wedding day!
Known Winston long time ago during my days in AirAsia, he was working in the IT department and we used to carpool together. After he resigned his position and based in Australia, he met Lan Anh during his business trip in Vietnam. And now they are getting married. We communicated several times over the internet and also get to know about their story and Lan Anh. Lan Anh seemed to be a different Vietnamese that I used to know, she has her own personality and attitude which I can figured why Winston would love her so much. When we meet up in Hoi An and heard Lan Anh calling Winston "baby", I was thinking, it will be so nice that a girl would address me like that hehe...
A year ago when AirAsia launched this new destination called Danang, nobody knows whats over in Danang, the advertisement were all beaches and such, but I went there for a holiday trip and I accidentally discovered this place Hoi An, and for the first sight, I fell in love with this place. It was a place much better than Melaka and Penang, eventhough they are all world heritage city. The best thing about Hoi An is everything were well preserved, the government really did a good job for this city. From that day onwards I would wonder how can I get someone to be here for some shoots, and many thanks to Winston, you made this dream come true.
This place is simply full of possibilities, I wish that I can come back here again but I heard that AirAsia will be shutting off this destination very soon, that is really a sad news.
Lan Anh brought over a white gown, and also her traditional vietnamese wedding dress and another vietnamese dress for the shoot. I was quite excited because it was my first time to shoot a vietnamese wedding dress, love the true red colour off this dress. And Winston wears a traditional chinese attire to match with Lan Anh's dress, signifies the combination of both cultures. Lan Anh has a unique personality which Winston attracted to, and she can be very specific on certain things so she is one of the demanding bride as well. Really glad to see Winston tying the knot finally, I am sure it was a great challenge for putting both families together as one.
